Game of Thrones Behind-the-Scenes Exhibition in New York This Week
It’s finally here! You did it! There is now less than a week to go until the new season of Game of Thrones is here, now with 100% more dragons, deception and trying to predict which member of the warring noble houses gets whacked next. If actually watching the show isn’t enough for you, HBO’s immersive international exhibition on the show is coming to New York this week, the only U.S. stop on the tour. No, there won’t be dragons, and you won’t be able to drink too much mead or whatever party with Tyrion and Ros like you have always dreamed, but you’ll be able to see some costumes and props and stuff, if you’re into that.
Costumes and props make up the bulk of the thing, as well as model dragons, swords with names and armor, and a replica of the Iron Throne to sit on and take tacky photos. One of the more intriguing offerings is a “Blackwater Bay Interactive Experience,” where fans can reenact the bloody Battle of Blackwater Bay from the show’s second season through the magic of the small screen, without having to worry about actually getting your limbs hacked off in the heat of battle.
The exhibition is free and will take place at 3 W. 57th Street for a week from this Thursday, March 28th, through April 3rd. If you’ve got out-of-towners in for Spring Break looking for things to do during the day, you could take them to see some crossbows and replica Hand of the King pins.
