When it comes to stuff white people like, farm-to-table New American fare is pretty up there. Commonwealth is more than that though — it’s progressive. Exhibit A: It donates a portion of the profits from its $75 tasting menu to charity. Snarkiness aside, this Mission restaurant is a perfect example of innovative gastronomy in a casual setting that makes Bay Area dining so disruptive. Similar to Bar Tartine in many regards, including its foodie clientele.
