Hamptons Weekend Surfing and Fishing Report From Flying Point Surf School

We hope you all got to enjoy this beautiful week of sunshine! We’re excited to get down to the ocean and put our surf skills to the test this weekend. Here’s what in store for the Hamptons this weekend, July 10-12.

Friday will consist of 1-3ft knee-to-thigh high waves with the occasional waist-high set due to those SSW winds. Saturday is the day! Offshore, clean, EPIC conditions out there. Waist-to-chest high swells. Perfect for beginners and experienced surfers alike. Sunday morning might be the perfect time to catch up on your sleep as the WSW winds will be picking up later in the afternoon to about 5-10mph. Head out around 3 PM to catch the light sideshore swells.

If you’re itching to go fishing, now is the time! We’ve landed huge striped bass all week between 30-40 lbs on live eels off Montauk Point and The Race. If you’re going out to fish, give us a call, we’re ready!

Check back every Friday for the local surf and fishing report from FPSS, and make sure to check out our website for more info on summer surfing lessons.
