More 2009 Travel Deals: V Australia, Empire Hotel, The Colonnade
The travel deals for 2009 keep coming fast and furious:
● V Australia is finally going to be up and running as of February, and they’re offering round-trip flights from from LAX to SYD for $780, all the way through September. Take that, Qantas. ● The Empire Hotel’s rates are dropping to $159 a night, come January. It’s like New York is the new Ohio.
● The Colonnade continues to wheel and deal with elements out of their control. Like the “Bulls and Bears” deal they launched in October, “Frosty Fridays” is a deal based on something fickle. This time it’s not the sad stock market, but rather, the weather. From now through March 31, book a Friday/Saturday stay and pay the price for Friday night in a 1:1 dollar to degree ratio. So say Friday’s temperature is 5 degrees (reading is at 5 p.m. by the National Weather Service). You’ll pay $5 for the Friday-night stay. Saturday’s rate is locked in at $295, but that includes two tickets to the Old Town Trolley Tour, or skate rentals at the Boston Common Frog Pond Skating Rink. And just to sweeten the deal, they’re throwing in two hot chocolates and overnight parking. The real question is, if it’s minus 10 degrees, does that mean you get money back?
