5 Places to Go in NYC From Splacer, the People Who Know Amazing Places

Looking for a space to throw an event, produce a shoot, open a pop-up shop? Real estate brokers aren’t usually there to help with the short-term stuff — it’s not like you’re looking to sign a lease for your party. That’s why Adi Biran, Lior Ash and Lihi Gerstner thought up Splacer, a digital marketplace connecting people looking for short term space with the owners of unique (and uniquely available) location, both commercial and private, ranging from studios and galleries to urban gardens, lofts and warehouses.

Cofounders Biran and Gerstner put together Splacer’s guide to New York for BlackBook, great for the times you’re looking for a good shave, a shopping marathon, places to party, and a few other unique spots.

The Electric Room
355 West 16th Street, New York, NY
Basement bar and club secreted under the Dream Hotel in Chelsea. Check out the very cool, British influenced decor.

The Lowline
Opening soon to the public, but already hosts some special events, The Lowline is an underground park transforming a historic trolley terminal on the Lower East Side with innovative solar energy solutions.

The Robotic Church
The Robotic Church space in Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood is both an amazing interactive art experience and a great converted space, with some 35 robots performing musical “masses,” which are still ongoing despite some confusing dates on the website.

Fellow Barber
101 N. 8th Street, Brooklyn, NY
This is probably one of the nicest spaces to get a haircut and shave in Williamsburg.

Dover Street Market
160 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY
A creatively designed space housing a collection of the most up-to-date, designer curated clothing and accessory brands with the fabulous Rose Bakery onsite to complete your shopping trip.
