Emma Watson Serves Female Empowerment in New Short

Emma Watson has grown before our eyes into an amazing actress and a strong voice for feminism. She’s served as a UN ambassador since 2014 in her ongoing fight for global women’s rights. Most recently, she helped make a two-minute short with Global Goals and Global Citizens.

The short film, titled Hurdles, uses vintage footage from an Olympic women’s hurdles event, set to Sia’s “Chandelier.” The clip highlights various strides made around the world toward gender equality. It also demonstrates the many ways in which women are still set back.

“There are many huge and high hurdles left to jump,” Watson narrates. “The race is still on, every day of every year of our lives, but we will cross the finishing line. No one will stop us.”
