Celeb-Studded UNICEF Masquerade Ball Returns This Halloween

UNICEF’s Next Generation Committee is planning to have a ball again this October 30, all in the name of a good cause. Indeed, its 5th annual Masquerade Ball will be taking place at New York’s glitzy Marquee nightclub on the eve of All Hallow’s Eve, with proceeds going to education programs for Syrian children—a genuinely exigent matter.

Hosted by the committee’s founder Jenna Bush Hager, this year’s theme will be “Adventures in Wonderland”—which we can only hope means that a good deal of suspension of disbelief (and talking rabbits) will be involved. And what would a “Wonderland” be without a fantastical cast? Past guests have included Olivia WildeBridget Regan, Michelle Tratchenberg, Megan Boone and Lindsay Ellingson (pictured below at the 2013 event) so expect this year’s fete to be another glitteringly ethereal affair.

Costumes are strongly urged (we recommend going off-theme, and dressing as a Pumpkin Spice Latte, for maximum zeitgeist engagement); but party poopers can simply don their best eveningwear. The $200 ticket price gets you five hours of open bar (8pm – 1am), hors d’oeuvres and dancing.

Corresponding balls will take place in Los Angeles and Chicago.
