The Attico Travels to Ibiza For Fall 2021 RTW Collection Shoot
It’s as official and exciting as it can possibly be, considering where we were just six months ago: Europe is opening back up to Americans, and we seriously cannot wait to be back in its museums, restaurants and on its beaches…and possibly even in an underground techno club or two in Warsaw or Vienna.
And speaking of clubbing, Ibiza was obviously hit mercilessly hard by a virus that ultimately forced us to not go anywhere near each other for sixteen months, as sweaty clubs full of people rubbing up against one another has long been about 75% of its sell to travelers (especially to those dance music loving Brits). But now that we’re going to be getting back to swapping sweat on the dancefloor, Italian fashion label The Attico has seen fit to pay visual tribute to the bawdiest of the Balearic islands, with a photo shoot for its Fall 2021 collection which actually focuses on the beauty over the bawdy.
The brand was launched in 2016 by Italian street stye icons Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini, who wanted to make clothes that were sexy, irreverent but also elegant. Since then their designs have graced the figures of the considerable likes of Dua Lipa, Kylie Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Emily Ratajkowski and even the Queen B herself (that’s Beyoncè, if you weren’t sure.) Earlier this year they also debuted the Life at Large genderless streetwear capsule to much acclaim.
But the Fall collection is very much what they’re about, eclectically textural and wildly unrestrained. Just as refined as it is provocatively and seductively bohemian, there are mesh cardigans and bold tartan skirts on the one hand, backless sequined gowns and glittery disco mini-dresses on the other. Add to that fuzzy sweaters with eye-popping polka dots, androgynous blazers, pony-skin jackets, and deconstructed terry cloth wrap dresses and one can pretty much cover the entire season’s wardrobe with a single label (though we always do recommend mixing it up a bit, of course).
The images also remind of the stunning natural beauty that Ibiza is not quite as well known for – and which has us thinking that an autumn 2021 visit just might end up on our calendar. Obviously, we know what we’ll be wearing.
