The J. Crew Denim Outlook: High-Waists & Heritage

J. Crew’s latest carefully curated collaboration comes from its denim department. The rapidly expanding clothing empire will be adding a few new jeans options for men come August, thanks to husband-and-wife run, Nashville-based denim brand Imogene + Willie. “This follows J. Crew’s latest product partnership, the Made in Heaven premium denim line out of London,” the London Boy cropped jean style which J. Crew has been selling out of online, says Women’s Wear Daily. And, while guys will have increased selections courtesy of Imogene + Willie, MIH will be stocking all new styles for the ladies come autumn.

Included in the MIH styles are both skinny and high-waisted jeans in “gorgeous, supersoft fabric that with washes you can tell were worked by hand,” Jenna Lyons, J. Crew’s creative director, told WWD. So, while WWD just a few days earlier proclaimed that skinny jeans have lost their grip, J. Crew apparently hasn’t gotten the memo just yet. Expect high-waisted cuts to proliferate through fall.
