Outnet.com Launches, Muji & Lululemon Head Online
A lot is happening in the world of online retail this week. Net-a-Porter’s much-anticipated discount retail site Outnet.com has launched early. Wares from designers like Marc Jacobs, Roberto Cavalli, and Philip Lim are on sale for 30-60% off of their typical price point. There are also advertorial features like “Chic Essentials: Stylish Denim,” in the same vein as Net-a-Porter and countless other online retailers who create editorial content to push their own goods. And “they’re also taking inspiration from sample sale sites like Gilt, and planning some ‘Flash Sales’, aka 72 hour online super sales,” says Racked.
Meanwhile, the Japanese transplant to NYC, Muji, just launched its e-commerce site in the states. Meaning you no longer have to head to SoHo or the JetBlue terminal at JFK if you want to shop for quaint, minimalist home wares and office supplies. Lululemon, the go-to destination for fashionable clothing for dedicated yogis, has just debuted its first online shop. And, last but not least is Uniqlo, who just partnered with China’s Taoboa to bring its wares to that country’s largest internet retail website.
