Lily Allen, Henry Holland & Alexa Chung Hit The Tube
Between docs like Lagerfeld Confidential and The Devil Wears Prada, and reality series like Project Runway and Kell on Earth, there has been no shortage of fashion-centric entertainment in recent years. Yet TV execs still seem to be singing the tune of the more the merrier when it comes to creating new style focused shows. Hitting a TV near you this year are shows from both budding boutique owner Lily Allen, as well as former MTV host Alexa Chung and chum Henry Holland. “Allen, who quit the music scene earlier this year to open a boutique called Lucy in Disguise with her half-sister, will be followed by Channel 4 cameras who will record her first independent foray into the fashion industry,” says Vogue UK.
Details on what the show will be called and how many episodes will air are still being fleshed out, but the program has been confirmed by a Channel 4 spokesperson. Meanwhile, House of Holland’s namesake, Chung and Gemma Cairney—a UK radio presenter and stylist—are resurrecting their show “Frock Me,” which first appeared on Channel 4 a few years ago and since underwent a lengthy hiatus. The duo is back and already filming new episodes for a second season, which jumps between fashion to music and back again. The first episode aired yesterday and is viewable here. Next up: a visit with Taylor Momsen in NYC (surely to discuss the best hosiery to pair with pants-less ensemble). Another cameo by a NYC-based TV star will be The City‘s Olivia Palermo. She recently tweeted: “Went on a carriage ride with the lovely Alexa Chung in Central Park today! Filming for her new show ‘Frock Me’.”
