Comfy Cotton Concoctions Courtesy of Wang & Petit Bateau
Since news of wunderkind (and recent CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner) Alexander Wang’s plans to launch a diffusion line broke, many downtown ladies have been dying to see the fruits of such an endeavor. Well, wait no longer. Images from the loose-fitting, cotton-heavy collection, aptly titled “T by Alexander Wang,” are here. Chock-full of thin tanks, tees, as well as tank and T-shirt dresses, all in a monochromatic palette of black and white. Each piece is prime for laying (à la Wang’s signature style).
Likewise serving up something extra-cute and comfy for spring is Petit Bateau. While the French brand has long been known for outfitting tots and preteens alike in their petit bateau insignia-adorned onesies and tanks, Refinery 29 has a first look at a new spring collection that’s significantly more sexy. The latter seems to target Wang’s own demographic — it also includes simple T-shirt dresses, as well as a super-cute onesie (of which Wang, who has long incorporated rompers into his collection, would likely approve).
Considering price points for Wang’s new line will range from around $74 to $89, it’s a significantly more digestible price tag than that of the anything from the designer’s eponymous label. I’d like to think of it as a consolation prize for the very sad news that Wang will not be hosting one of his legendary after-parties this coming Fashion Week. At least we’ll always have Foxy.
