Everyone is Having a Ridiculously Good Time in This New Fendi Roma Holiday Capsule Collection Video

Fashion campaigns can tend towards the stoic, even the solemn, as everyone seems to be trying so hard to convey the gravitas of the rather expensive garments being hawked within. But after everything we’ve been trough in 2020—and especially the last two weeks—solemnity is the last thing we want from fashion.

Rather, we have been pining for a bit of high-style levity.

Our friends at Fendi certainly must have sensed this, as the utterly exhilarating short film accompanying the release of the Italian fashion house’s Roma Holiday Capsule Collection unabashedly exhibits. Touting the new Roma logo Women’s and Men’s Ready-to-Wear and Accessories line, there is actually an underlying hopefulness to the proceedings, as the campaign is insisting that we will soon be ready to toss aside our quarantine-inspired frumpwear, in favor of a chic but comfy new winter wardrobe.

In the clip we see a pair of happy-enough-to-dance models arriving at what seems to be some or other very lavish Roman villa, and unpacking a rather significant number of Fendi logoed trunks from a groovy little vintage Alfa Romeo. The fuzzed-out-guitars-and-handclaps soundtrack decisively summons the ghost of the glam-a-riffic Marc Bolan, with a bit of Joan Jett roar thrown in for just the right amount of additional musical verve.

Eventually, everyone is dancing around the villa, wildly unpacking Fendi boxes, and even slipping into their silky Fendi pajamas for what is sure to be the most lavish, and fashionable slumber party…ever? All against a chorus of exuberant shouting, “Everybody knows, everybody knows!” over and over and over again.

One thing we do know for sure: we wish we’d been invited.
