Dylan Penn, Lala &ce Feel the Love in Moncler’s ‘We Love Winter’ Campaign
Though we get no small number of sideways looks because of it, we are never shy about expressing our wildly enthusiastic love of winter. The exhilarating chills, the soul-warming hot toddies, the countryside covered with snow – seriously, you can keep your sweaty summers.
No surprise, Moncler loves winter just as much as we do. Born in the French Alps in 1952, the luxury outerwear brand has been keeping us snug as a bug for almost 70 years now. And with their new campaign, unambiguously titled ‘We Love Winter’, they’re celebrating the very essence of what has made them so enduring.
Helmed by Aussie born, New York based fashion photographer Chris Colls – who has shot the likes of Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham and Bella Hadid – it features a dazzling array of diverse cultural luminaries. Fittingly, at a time when travel has returned and loved ones are at last reuniting after more than a year-and-a-half of the COVID virus keeping us all apart, the comfort of family is the overarching theme of the campaign. Indeed, actress Robin Wright is seen embracing her daughter, model/actress Dylan Penn, while French songstress Lala &ce and her mother Noëlle are lovingly doing the same.
Japanese racing enthusiast and Bow Wow Intl. CEO & Creative Director Mai Ikuzawa also appears with her young sons Arlo and Milo. In fact, the only non-related stars are dancer Mamadou Bathily and models Mao Xiaoxing and Mika Schneider – but there’s no less love exchanged between them because of it.
“I was thrilled by the idea of closeness and intimacy,” Colls enthuses. “We wanted everyone to show their individuality, especially since some of them had never done professional shoots together before. It was a wonderful opportunity.”
Considering we spent more than a year being told that hugging someone you love could be literally fatal, celebrating the joys of unfettered affection could not possibly be more timely. And thanks to Moncler, it’s easy to look good doing it.
