Dorothy’s ‘Wizard Of Oz’ Dress Fetches Half-Million At Auction

Today In News About People With Stupid Amounts Of Money That They Throw Around Like It Is Nothing:

An iconic blue gingham dress worn by Judy Garland as Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz sold at auction yesterday for a cool $480,000, Deadline Hollywood reports. (It is one of two blue dresses Garland wore during filming.)

Dorothy’s dress was just one of many "classic Hollywood" items on the block at Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills, including a dress Julie Andrews wore in The Sound Of Music and the sunglasses John Belushi wore in The Blues Brothers. But nothing earned quite as much money as that gingham dress.
