Madonna & Lourdes to Launch Material Girl Beauty Line

Next month, Madonna and her fashion-mogul-in-training daughter, Lourdes Leon, will launch Material Girl Beauty, an extension of the eighties-inspired fashion line on which the duo collaborate. “It was so much fun getting to pick all my favorite scents for Material Girl body products and lip glosses,” Lola, the voice of the tween line, told WWD. “The body products have fun names like Wicked Watermelon, Flirty Fruit, Midnight Magnolia, and Sinful Sugar. I chose scents that I love”

Perhaps the beauty-line launch shouldn’t come as surprise, considering 14-year-old Lola raved about how-to hair and make-up tutorials recently on the Material Girl blog. Material Girl body products are set to include body washes, mists, lotions, nail polish, and makeup, which range in price from 7 – 12 dollars. While mother and daughter will share in the design and branding duties, as expected, Madonna always has final say. Lanie List, chief merchandising officer at Iconix Brand Group, who partnered with Material Girl for the line, says, “If Lola goes to a place with an idea that Madonna doesn’t think is appropriate for the brand, she’ll veto it. She’s a branding expert.” She’s also our one-and-only Material Girl.
