Watch Jake Gyllenhaal Violently Murder Hipsters in The Shoes’ ‘Time to Dance’ Music Video
The Shoes are a band from France who figured out the best way to get some publicity: by filming a music video in which an Oscar nominee brutally kills people for almost nine minutes. In the video for "Time to Dance," Jake Gyllenhaal leads a tour through the psychotic mind, donning a fencing outfit en route to starting a murder spree against dozens of good-looking young people across parties, clubs, parking lots, bedrooms and more. Eventually, he drops the costume and continues the bloodbath as his rugged self There are also tons of shots of him working out and going about his daily routine while looking unhealthily possessed. It’s a gripping video, but dude, there are subtler ways to disagree with Bon Iver beating Nicki Minaj at the Grammys.
Oh, and the song is alright in that heightened, ecstasy-fueled way. You can buy like six versions of it on the iTunes store off via their Time to Dance EP, if you’re a fan. And Jake: you got some things on your mind you wanna talk about? Hit me up at jeremypaulgordon [at] gmail [dot] com, we can work it out over Four Lokos.
