The Weekly Jay-Z Rumors: Grizzly Bear Guest Spot, The Blueprint 3 Leak

Jay-Z’s kind of everywhere these days. He’s on the cover of XXL. He’s in an awesome American Express commercial. He recently announced a special, one-off 9/11 benefit concert at Madison Square Garden, coinciding with the release of The Blueprint III, which just leaked to the internet, which Memphis Bleek blamed on Timbaland. Oh: and he’s at the Grizzly Bear show in Williamsburg, with Beyonce. And supposedly, he got on stage with them. Did he? We! Have! Video!

No! Though he was at the show with Beyonce, Hov did not get on stage with Ed Droste and co. to perform the rap remix of “Two Weeks.” For those who fantasize about such a thing, yes: it exists, and it’s not half bad. Meanwhile, watch Hov sway while hipsters freak themselves into self-loathing pop culture aneurysms.

Even better was how quickly the rumor of Hov and Beyonce on stage with the ‘bear spread, and who spread it. None other than the genius blogger behind Hipster Runoff, Carles. For those who don’t read Hipster Runoff, well, you should. For those who do, a message to Carles: BRO U R THE ULTIMATE ALTBRO MEME.

Meanwhile, The Blueprint 3 leaked today to the internet, and while we, uh, know someone who has it, no, we’re not going to say where we got it, though if you Twitter hard enough, we’re sure you can come up with something. Just buy the album and support your favorite “Money Ain’t A Thang” rapper (no, not Jermaine Dupri). Meanwhile, if you’re that desperate: the entire thing’s going to be available tomorrow on MTV’s website, and digital copies will go on sale three days early on digital music service Rhapsody. Now: we wait. The reviews for this thing are going to be interesting. It’s not the classic we’ve anticipated, but it’s something else entirely. We’ll have you an office full of opinion in the coming week.
