Miley Messes Up, Drake Silenced, at 2010 MMVAs

It’s been quite the week for Drake. Not only has he sold wild numbers of his new album Thank Me Later (considering we can all listen to it for free), he was also partially responsible for a riot that broke out at the South Street Seaport in Manhattan, when the crowd that showed up for his free concert turned rabid. Now, the question, “Will Drake ever play another live show” has to be asked, after his second scheduled performance of the week didn’t end up happening.

This time, the fiasco occurred in Toronto, Drake’s hometown, during the MuchMusic Video Awards (Canada’s version of the VMAs). It began when host Miley Cyrus fumbled his introduction in the worst of ways–by verbally stumbling over her cue cards–and then continued when a technical malfunction had Drake (who arrived with fellow Canuck Justin Bieber) standing silently on stage for what seemed like an hour, while the audience of tweens screamed relentlessly. It was the kind of awkward, dumbfounding moment that only live television can produce. And it was really fun to watch. Check out Miley’s mistake below, and click here to see Drake not perform.
