Premiere: KAPTAN’s New Track ‘Everything’ Will Take You on a Euphoric Trip

More often than not, when someone says, “Everything’s going to be alright,” it sounds dishearteningly empty. Yet when paired with good music, the sentiment gains a comforting level of credibility—the type of anecdote that makes someone crack a smile as hard as they try not to. Such is the case with KAPTAN’s indie-pop gem “Everything,” a perfectly uplifting track that borders on the edge of euphoric joy without feeling juvenile or naïve. Andrew de Torres, one of downtown Nashville’s exciting emerging artists, kicks things off with distant and dazed electric guitar plucks, joined by the singer-songwriter’s falsetto cooing, which sounds as enthusiastic as the day is young. About the song, KAPTAN tells us:

This is one of the first songs I wrote as KAPTAN. There was a ton of different things happening in my life at the time. I watched people who I really love struggle through their own battles and felt inspired to write something to remind them that everything was going to be ok. This was definitely one of those songs that just clicked for me and has been a good reminder for even myself to stay optimistic.

Keep an eye out for Kaptan’s forthcoming EP Sprinter, and learn more about the burgeoning star here.
