A video for "The loop closes" off of How to destroy angels_’s An Omen EP made its way into the world today and now we’d like to shut off the lights and watch this on the ceiling, please. From HTDA—comprised of Trent Reznor, singer Mariqueen Maandig, musical collaborator Atticus Ross, and graphic designer Rob Sheridan—the video comes fresh off the heels of the announcement of their debut album, Welcome oblivion, which looks to be released March 5th on Columbia. The static-heavy video full of VHS-found footage, razor’s edge close-ups, and distorted images harkens back to Nine Inch Nails material but sonically gives us something more structured and less unchained. Although it may not quite pack quite as much punch, it’s still a nice treat. More details on the album are to follow, but in the meantime check out the video and black the windows.
