Busta Rhymes & Kanye Join Q-Tip at BK Hip-Hop Festival

It seems like every time someone sends this sort of tweet before a rap concert —“Listen NYC. If u miss 2mrw’s show at bklyn hiphop festival u are gonna be mad”—Kanye West is going to show up. That’s exactly what happened at the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival on Saturday, where Q-Tip headlined along with performances from rappers like Kendrick Lamar, M.O.P. and Jeru Da Damaja. Busta Rhymes, on the other hand, was a more unexpected sort of surprise.

Black Thought of the Roots first joined Tip onstage in between tracks from The Low End Theory and People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm, but Busta’s sneak appearance for “Scenario” was a crowd pleaser. (He also dropped his verse on Chris Brown’s “Look At Me Now.”

Kanye was the final surprise, lending Q-tip a mic on “Award Tour” and performing his own songs “Can’t Tell Me Nothin” and “Dark Fantasy” and “All of the Lights.”
