Thanks to the magic of DVD gag reels, today’s audiences can easily discover what bits of improvisation didn’t make the final cut. We’ve all seen Will Ferrell at work, where he’ll riff ten different variations on one line, leaving his director with the tough job of choosing only one. But what about those unscripted moments that did make it into the finished version? Thanks to the efforts of one intrepid YouTuber, we’ve now got a video compilation of 25 of the most inspired moments of movie improvisation.

Our favorite is probably from Midnight Cowboy, when Dustin Hoffman almost gets mowed down by a real cab and still doesn’t break character, but there’s a wealth to choose from. Watch below and tell us yours.
