See the Bloody New Trailer for Danny Boyle’s ‘Trance’

Having seen Danny Boyle’s Trance last week, there are a lot of things I could say. But I won’t. Not yet. No, you’ll just have to wait and experience this one for yourself. And with a release slated for April 5th, that’s not too long to wait.

But what I will say, is that Boyle’s films always leave me under a very powerful spell, dictated by whatever world he’s captured me in for past two hours—coming out of the film in a haze of color and sound, unsure of what to do with myself after.I remember the first time I saw Trainspotting—feeling completely ecstatic and jittery, the only thing I could possibly do was go for a jog sans running attire while blasting Underworld. When I saw Slumdog Millionare I was amidst a painful breakup and leaving the theater, I was emotionally set back about two weeks. So naturally, after seeing Trance, let’s just say I was in a bit of a…well, trance.

Anyhow, the Anthony Dod Mantle-shot and Rick Smith-scored film tells the story of a young art auctioneer who gets roped into the theft of a high priced painting, but after a series of violent events, awakes in a state of amnesia. From there, the gang he was working with enlists the help of a hypnotherapist to help him try and tap into his subconscious memories to unlock what he could have done with the painting—and that’s when things start to really get crazy.

In the new red band trailer for the film we see a bit more into the madness of the picture, get a taste of the pulsating score, and yes, see Vincent Cassel with half his head missing. Enjoy.
