See the Enticing Trailer for Eliza Hittman’s ‘It Felt Like Love’
Since its Sundance premiere in 2013, I have heard nothing but fantastic praise for the unique coming of age drama It Felt Like Love. Written and directed by Eliza Hittman in her feature-length directorial debut, the film stars Gina Piersanti as Lila, a 14-year-old who, during an uneventful summer, undergoes her first foray into sexuality. Set on the outskirts of Brooklyn, her affections move towards Sammy, an “older thug” she meets at Rockaway Beach. As the official synopsis reads:
Wanting something to brag about, she weaves a story about him and becomes fixated on seeing it realized. When her attempts fail, she propels the lie even further, claiming they’ve had sex. During her sexual quest, Lila turns from predator to prey. It Felt Like Love captures the confusing emotions and developing identity of an adolescent girl that explores what could be euphemistically called love.
Thanks to The Playlist, you can now watch the official trailer below, which certainly looks to live up to the influx of admiration for the feature—and I could not be more intrigued and excited.
