Annina Roescheisen’s ‘A Love Story’ Screens at NewFilmmakers SummerFest

German born multi-media artist Annina Roescheisen has always approached her work with a focused goal of breaking down the barriers of elitist thinking to enhance greater connectivity amongst us all. With her new film short, A Love Story, Roescheisen considers herself a “video painter” guiding her audience on a visual quest through the truth of emotions that arise during an individual’s life journey.

Both a solitary and collective journey, the story is held together by a key sculpture, a beating heart, that serves as a universal totem suggesting the answer to suffering (both inner and external) is and will always be, love. With A Love Story, Roescheisen successfully turns her audience from passive viewer to active seeker bringing a new perspective on how we approach ourselves, others and the environment in which we exist.

A Love Story screens tonight, July 3rd at 7:45PM at NewFilmmakers SummerFest at Anthology Film Archives on the Lower East Side.
