Amy Adams Makes Contact in ‘Arrival’

Can Amy Adams fill the Ripley shaped hole in our hearts as the next alien movie heroine? Doubtful, but she certainly tries in the trailer for Arrival.

Adams plays Dr. Louise Banks, a linguist who can apparently decipher extraterrestrial languages. When an egg-shaped craft comes to earth to apparently just hover over a field for no reason, the US government sends Dr. Banks into the ship to represent earth and make contact. With an extremely intense trailer that leaves you wanting more, it’s safe to assume that the aliens in this film aren’t just here for vacation.
