Dua Lipa Dazzles in Versace Fall 2021 Collection Campaign

Despite Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion grabbing the GRAMMYS headlines with a distinctly unsubtle execution of ‘WAP’ this past March, Dua Lipa still decisively and memorably dazzled. Decked in glittery Versace, the British / Kosovo-Albanian songstress (joined by Da Baby and a cast of many) turned out over-the-top, thrillingly flamboyant performances – including a dramatic dress drop – of ‘Levitating’ and ‘Don’t Stop Now’ to a worldwide audience of 8.8 million. (Which, notably, was only half of what it was the year previous.)

Now she’s showing her love for Versace (and they for her) once again with a gorgeous new campaign for Fall 2021. The latest collection takes a noticeably more youthful turn, and coincides with the high-profile launch of the new La Greca monogram – so it’s a time of bold re-invention for the Milan fashion house that Gianni and Donatella built.

For the shoot, Ms. Lipa actually received something of a vibrant visual re-imagination herself, appearing in the campaign with striking/fiery orangey-red hair, which flows dramatically down to (nearly) her waist. She comes off decidedly sassy in a bold red/black/grey print dress with matching bag, but is pure elegance, and looking almost ethereal in a fuzzy, quasi-animal-print coat, the shining musical star seeming to be staring up dreamily up at the stars. It’s all vividly photographed by Turkish/Welsh duo Mert and Marcus.

“I met Dua in London a few years ago,” Donatella recalls, “and realized immediately she had something unique and special. She reminds me of the women in the south of Italy, she leads, she is not led. Right now, I cannot think of a better woman to embody the spirit of Versace and of this collection.”

We could hardly disagree.
