Busy Philipps Gets Her Own E! Late Night Talk Show

Busy Philipps – Instagram

Although women in Hollywood are definitively making their voices heard, the late night talk show game is still largely dominated by men. From Jimmy Fallon to Jimmy Kimmel to Seth Meyers, there is indeed not nearly enough diversity after 11:30pm.

But E! is bucking the reality, giving us a breath of fresh air in the form of actress and social media sweetheart Busy Philipps – who is set to do an innovative new talk show for the same network that launched the late night career of Chelsea Handler. Philipps will also serve as executive producer for Busy Tonight, which will feature comedic commentary, interviews, and segments revolving around her Instagram.

Philipps has long been one of our favorite cool girls of film and television, winning our hearts in shows like Freaks and GeeksDawson’s Creek, and Cougar Town. She’s also been in films including White Chicks and more recently – starring alongside Amy Schumer, Aidy Bryant, and real-life and Dawson’s Creek bestie Michelle Williams – I Feel Pretty. These days, she’s also a pretty awesome Instagram presence.

If anyone should join the likes of Samantha Bee, Robin Thede, and Sarah Silverman, we’re glad psyched it will be Philipps. Production is expected to begin this summer in Los Angeles.
