BlackBook Exclusive: Stunning Portrait Gallery From Moogfest 2018

Chelsea Manning, by Jeffrey Delannoy

As we reported once again this year, Moogfest is one of the one of America’s most thought-provoking, uniquely entertaining and singularly important annual cultural events. Indeed, this year’s edition (May 17-20) included a keynote by high-profile activist Chelsea Manning, a new multimedia installation by Michael Stipe, a Ralph Steadman exhibition, and a live musical performance by “Sonic Robots.”

Typical of its ability to make us see our culture through a very different sort of lens, rather than just putting out a collection of live highlight images, Moogfest shared with BlackBook this gallery of stunning portraits by photographer Jeffrey Delannoy, which captured a more intimate, and thus more visceral view of the event.

If you missed it this year, worry not – Moogfest 2019 is already scheduled for April 25 – 28 of next year – its 15th anniversary.
