Women’s March Takes Over Washington D.C. (Slideshow)

The gray skies and dreary weather were no obstacle for the mass amounts of people who showed up for the Women’s March on Washington DC. Just one of around 600 marches taking place around the world, hundreds of thousands came out to voice their opposition to the new president. People of all ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, and gender identities occupied the streets, coming together as minorities to create a majority.

Speakers and performers took to a stage at the front of the crowd, which spanned blocks in every direction with amplifiers on every corner. Michael Moore, Van Jones, and leaders from several marginalized communities voiced their support for the multiple causes being represented. Performances took place between speeches, sparking a massive dance party in the streets.

With day one of Donald Trump’s presidency behind us, the people of America made their voices heard today.
