Travel Dispatch: One Bal Harbour to Unveil Private Beach Club
Sometimes having your own beach chair and umbrella isn’t enough. ONE Bal Harbour Resort & Spa, the only luxury hotel in this Miami village known primarily as a shopping mecca, will unveil a members-only beach club at the end of the month. ONE already seduces the affluent traveler with it’s 124-room, 4-tower, five-acre hotel (there are only two guestrooms per floor, to give you an idea), so it’s no surprise that they’ll be the first to allow a select group of beachgoers their own private, sandy playground.
Primed to pamper local and international tastemakers and celebrities, the beach club will be invite-only, with an annual price tag of $10,500 for access. What do members get out of it? 750-feet of private Atlantic coastline, specially-designed cabanas and lounge chairs, an off-sand “retreat,” access to the pool, and a restaurant, gym, spa and members-only lounge. There’s also that whole super-exclusive privilege thing of being able to say you’re a member of a private beach club (which goes pretty far here in Miami). The club was visually conceptualized by Miami and Manhattan-based designer Hernan Arriaga, whose roster of clients includes Roberto Cavali, the Hermes family, and Alec Baldwin.
