This Saturday, New Yorkers are invited to attended the launch of Citi Pond at Bryant Park’s inaugural Winter Film Festival, a new, outdoor, winter-themed movie event. Sure, it will be 23 degrees on Saturday, but come on, we’re New Yorkers. We do crazy things.
The free film festival will have six showings throughout the rest of winter, snow or shine. This Saturday’s feature is the animated penguin comedy Happy Feet, which won Best Animated Feature at the Oscars a few years back. It will be projected on a 900 square foot screen, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets and other bundling accessories. Also, warm comfort treats will be served by Celsius restaurant, including sliders, popcorn, hot chocolate, and apple cider. I would go for the Snowcap, an alcohol-infused hot chocolate beverage that includes Absolut Vanilla and Peppermint Kahlua, and comes topped with whipped cream, chocolate flakes, and marshmallows. Because nothing warms the blood better than a bit of the old poison.
