It’s Wednesday—hump day—and I must admit, I have gotten off to a bad start. The cat and puppies are avoiding me and the gal went back to sleep. I’m ornery today, but looking around for reasons to be cheerful. There are a few. Tonight I will attend Retro Wednesdays at XVI Rooftop Lounge (251 West 48th Street.) Lady Starlight, one of my favorite people, will provide the music for a 5-10pm affair. She will provide "retro" tracks to a crowd that will like the idea of being home for the late news. I’m a retro kind of guy and can’t wait to hear her set; I’ve got my Shazam and SoundHound poised for action. Keith Collins and Steve Mack are co-hosting.
Before or after that I will scoot over to the 40th Anniversary celebration for the original yellow boot, Timberland. This soirée will take place at The Timberland Workshop (48 North 3rd Street) in good ol’ Williamsburg. The folks at Timberland are launching the Timberland Heritage Collection and will ply guests with cocktails and fingerfood. Wild Nothing will provide the music. This is an RSVP affair, so pull some shoe stringsd to get in.
