Miami: Top 10 Happy Hours
● Mandarin Oasis (Brickell/Downtown) – Friday nights are popular during the winter months; sip $20 cocktails on the bay, then head to Café Sambal or Azul for a bite. Transports you to tropical island getaway minus the travel, but def with the price tag. ● Le Tub (Aventura) – This local watering hole — sitting in a rickety old spot on the Intercoastal — may be known for succulent burgers, but it’s also a choice spot for winding down with a cold brew or two. If you opt to cruise in on your Sea Ray, bring a DD — water taxis don’t frequent these waters. ● Monty’s (South Beach) – Pain Killers and Miami Vices will put you on the ground; the former comes in three mind-numbing doses of the devil’s tonic, and the latter is a delish concoction of pina colada and strawberry daiquiri mix with an equally dangerous shot of 151 floating on top. Help the booze go down with a trip to the raw bar.
● Rum Bar at The Ritz (Key Biscayne) – The best spot to sip a tropical drink while the sun sets; comfy leather furniture and a good old tropic feel sets the mood for those looking for a taste of the Cuban life. ● Bayside Hut (Key Biscayne) – If you’re itching to put all those salsa lessons to good use, throw on your dancing shoes and mosey on over here. Once the sun goes down and the liquor has loosened you up, shake it to the tunes of island jams, mahn. ● Tobacco Road (Downtown/Brickell) – Locals get tanked off the taps at Miami’s longest-standing resto/bar. A good place to watch the ‘Canes kick ass on the road, or check out a local band. Plenty of greasy bar food to help avoid that inevitable hangover. ● Lucky Strike Lanes (South Beach) – Grab a group from the office and hit this bowl-a-rama for drinks, snacks, and some friendly after-work competition. Just don’t invite the boss. ● Segafredo (South Beach) – Where the Euros park it for Prosecco and prosciutto. Find a table with couches. There is nothing more entertaining than Lincoln Road people-watching –and a few bubblies — after a long day crunching numbers. ● The Room (South Beach) – Low lighting and hard-to-find brew is the perfect recipe for drinking off a bad day. Ask the bartender for recommendations. Best not to take that girl you’re wooing, but definitely grab a wingman. ● Green St. (Coconut Grove) – 20-somethings flock on Thursday nights for mojitos and to scope out the singles. Also a great spot to gather a group of old pals and get liquored up before hitting up the local bars.
