Miami Happenings: Copperbox’s Dinner Parties, Mercadito’s Tax Incentive, Social Hour In Brickell
NOW: Copperbox’s Foie Gras Crème Brûlée & Lavish Dinner Party
We’re still giddy over the one-year-old clandestine restaurant and private dinner party that is Copperbox. Every Thursday and Saturday, the hard-to-find spot hosts lavish dinner paryies for 24 people, and touts an undisclosed menu full of foie gras creme brûlée and crème of granny smith apples in ricotta/cilantro mousse. Two champagne flutes into this epicurean performance art and you will be yakking up the chap in front of you as if you were best buds back in grade school. To get access, email Copperbox for an invite to this $125 per person affair and make sure your GPS is working.
MONDAY: Mercadito’s Tax Incentive
Dreading Tax Day? Temper your temper with guacamole and drinks. With proof of completing your citizen duty, Mercadito is offering discounted guacamole and other, yet-to-be named reward treats. For one night, a $9.50 serving of the Mexican dip will be just $4.15. If only paying taxes was that reasonable.
WEDNESDAY: Social Hour In Brickell
Looking for a vibe that’s not overrun by tourists and college students in Brickell? Every Wednesday from 5pm ‘til midnight FIFTY at the Viceroy Hotel morphs into a quasi-private social club for those who can show proof of Brickell residence. The complimentary hors d’oeuvres are served from 5pm to 7pm, plus drinks and select bottles of wine and spirits are half-off all night. If that’s not tempting enough, the view from the 50th floor is killer.
