Lindsay Lohan plans to drop ‘Lohan’ and start going by just “Lindsay,” PopEater reports. Her mother says so, anyway. Not sure if this is going to work! “Lindsay” just doesn’t have the same punch as Cher, Madonna, or Prince. It’s like calling yourself just “Stephanie” or “Jessica.”
Apparently younger sister Ali and mom Dina are also dropping Lohan and replacing it with Dina’s maiden name, Sullivan. Is this all just a scheme to get back at Lindsay’s dad Michael? According to a “family friend” quoted in the AOL article, it is:
“So many of the greatest people in showbiz are known by just their first name. Look at Oprah and Beyonce. Now you can add Lindsay to that list,” a family friend tells me. “And it’s a way for them all to start over. No one in the family want anything to do with Lindsay’s father [Michael Lohan] anymore and that includes sharing a last name.”
Lindsay is not one of the “greatest people in showbiz” and as such, should probably stick to having a last name like everybody else. She doesn’t really do anything showbiz-related anymore, per se, except get in trouble and go to rehab and/or jail. I don’t think you can even go on trial with a single name, anyway.
