Insta-Critic: Burberry’s Colorful Nostalgia

Burberry struck a decidedly vintage-inspired feeling today. In fact, the vibes were so strong, the show transported me to my fashion-obsessed younger days, “shopping” in my Grandma’s cedar closet as a little kid–enamored of the kaleidoscopic prints and bold, artsy patterns on the garments she’d preserved from the 60s and 70s. These were details that showed up on Burberry’s London runway today: tiered maxis, fringed layers, a jewel-toned color scheme, and belted trenches all reflected an updated 60s aesthetic.
