Fashion Types Party in Paris for Terry Richardson’s Mom & Dad
As Fashion Week struts on in Paris, models and the professionally cool took time out from the runways to check out plaid clad photographer Terry Richardson’s exhibit at colette in Paris last night. Model Lindsey Wixson, nightlife impresario Andre Saraiva, Purple Magazine’s Olivier Zahm, former French Vogue editrix Carine Roitfeld, street style photography progenitor Bill Cunningham, designer Jeremy Scott, and pink haired model Charlotte Free were just a few who stopped by to see the show before hopping on a “Terry” branded school bus to celebrate with a dinner at Lipp.
The show opened September 26 and features photos from Richardson’s book Mom & Dad. As the title may have tipped you off (surprise!), instead of Lady Gaga, Lindsay Lohan posing on NYC sidewalks, or other famous people doing weird and uncomfortable things, it features 100 pages worth of candid shots of his parents.
Nothing like your family photo shoot complete with stiff outfits, bad lighting, and awkward angles, the style is much more Gonzo. Richardson’s mom poses with a cigarette or giving the finger. His father, the late photographer Bob Richardson, rocks a cowboy hat and thick rimmed black glasses. The apple doesn’t fall far from the revealing portraits.
For those who aren’t in Paris to check out the show, pics can be seen on colette’s web site and you can pick up some of the merch that is up for sale, including Richardson’s products with Diesel, G-shock and BabyG Casio, Moscot glasses, the creepiest teddy bear you’ve ever seen, and other hipster-esque tchotkes.
