Chicago Opening: Studio Paris
Something like a Keith McNally restaurant transplanted to the Windy City, Jerrod and R.J. Melman’s retro-modern brasserie Paris Club has been a sensation in Chicago since opening earlier this year in River North. Now, for those intent on pushing through ’til morning, they’ve converted the rooftop into Studio Paris.
A light-filled photo studio by day, Studio Paris converts to a decadent lounge at 4pm and a glamorous nightclub after 10pm. A Warholian vibe will prevail, with photographers snapping away at the scene and the resulting black & whites adorning the walls on subsequent nights (how meta). Baroque, industrial, and South Beach aesthetics all play nice together in various corners of the massive space, and a retractable glass roof assures the party rages on through winter. Sundry manifestations of champagne sipping mark out the decidedly posh imbibing agenda.
High-profile, impromptu music performances are promised in the Studio, the first of which featured none other than Cee Lo Green.
