Modern American spot brings the hardwood and Brooklyn vibes to the South Slope. Simple menu means everything that comes out of the kitchen is perfectly executed. Steak frites, duck leg confit, southern friend 1/2 chicken all satisfy, as does their version of the good old fashioned hamburger. Cocktails are a highlight, thanks to award-winning bartender John Bush, who uses boozes like Breuckelen Gin and ingredients like maple bitters. Try the Thistle Hill cocktail (Famous Grouse, Carpano Antico, citrus bitters) or just belly up to a beer (Sixpoint Righteous Rye on tap, Brooklyn Local 2 in big bottles). A BlackBook Pick because I live around the corner and pick it often.
