The Surrey

Editorial Review

Modern, lux accommodation on the Upper East. Beaux-Arts classic upgraded to the tune of $60 mill. Interior adds Art Deco flair, right down to a custom- furnishing and hand-painting level of detail. New York cool is not neglected, with art by the likes of Jenny Holzer and Richard Serra, city pics, and a little graffitied whimsy here and there. Rooms start at a palatial 350 square feet, decked out with DUX beds, Egyptian cotton, Samsung LCDs, and a Denon iPod dock. Oh, and your room service is carted up by no less than Daniel Boulud.
