This former dive’s recent reno has made it Gastown’s newest hipster hotspot, thanks to sexy staff, solid programming and a better-than-average pub menu featuring Guinness cheese poutine and a pizza dough recipe from the chef’s mom. House drink special: beer and a shot for under $10. Flat screens, video and table games update the fun, but unchanged are the vintage tile floor, stained glass and brick walls, and Wednesday karaoke nights with Gogan, where even the bartenders become serious belters.
