New York City's sushi scene expands and contracts, but Sushi Zen remains a top player in a cutthroat game. On the scene for over twenty years, resto stays as fresh as its fish, thanks to maestro Toshio Suzuki. One of the handful of chefs licensed to serve up fugu (the poisonous blowfish made famous in The Simpsons), Suzuki is scary good. Put your trust in master chefs and they will design a menu specifically for you, based on the season. If you want the soft-shell turtle, make sure to give a two-day advance reservation. Décor minimalist and, well, zen.
