It worked better the first way: Steak Frites gets back to basics after Union Prime fail. Interior's been toned down, now rocking earthy colors, warm lighting, generic wood tables. Service can be spotty, and kitchen's hit or miss. On a good night, signature frites with chicken, mussels, or your choice of steaks. French-inflected daily specials, coq au vin starts off the week, Bouillabaisse Americaine finishes it on Friday. Outdoor seating for a little power tanning with your power lunch.
