Squeal

Editorial Review

For all its supposed "Southern-ness," New Orleans isn't a big BBQ town. Sure, people love pork and brisket cooked long over low heat, but Nola doesn't have the rep of Memphis or Kansas City. Squeal fills a need for local lovers of smoked meat with its own sauce poured over brisket, pork, chicken and sausage. A big highlight is Southern sides like collards and cheese grits. Located in a Hendrixian red house, it's a bit of country in the Big Easy.
