Some would label this crammed corner grocery, uh, unsavory (ok: “ghetto”), and while it’s certainly “trapped in a mid-90s time warp” in terms of décor (and possibly some of the inventory), this unassuming spot slangs the dopest deli sandwiches in the city. Inspires daily lines of local families, athletes, politicos, thugs, white businessmen, et al. craving ginormous, freshly toasted sammys. Don’t be distracted by the booty mags or the yellowing photos of local sports heroes, and keep your order simple: we like turkey & avocado on wheat.
