In a neighborhood of wall-to-wall restaurants, PKLI has become THE hopping new place from the minute it opened its doors. As with its sister restaurants in La Jolla and Del Mar, everything is house made, from the paper thin crust on the sweet onion and crimin flatbread to the cured meats on the Cutting Board starter. Standout appetiizer/share plate: Scallop crudo with kumquat, fennel, celery, tarragon and hommemade sea salt crackers. Mary's chicken, with brussels sprouts and celery root puree, has skin so tasty that you'll forget about ever going skinless again. Early and late night happy hours and $3.50 tapas menu 3 pm to close daily.
