Editorial Review

Heartwarming Mexican cooking from dishwasher made good. Elegant West Villager slings nada tacos, but tortilla tweakers get deep-fried fix via chic chimichangas. Literal-minded "hamburguesa" of serrano ham, hugged in a potato bun. Defying logic, whole entrée made from shrimp balls. Clean walls, hardwood, copper fixtures signal cocktails like the Piñata classier than they sound -- rather than confetti-colored Jell-O shot, habanero-infused scotch swirled with pineapple juice. Lest things get too rarefied, pork loin still marinated in lard and maple sizzurp.
