It's a raucous Italian party at No. 246 every night, but that's the way it ought to be. Who wants to eat spaghetti in silence? And the spaghetti here is quite nice, served with Georgia white shrimp and pequin chilies and breadcrumbs. Fancy restaurant-style pizzas too, but the mains are major: pork belly, trout, chicken, hanger steak, it's all good. Cocktails like the Hanky Panky (Plymouth gin, Carpano Antica, Fernet Branca, orange peel) are pleasingly upscale. $3 Bud bottles, if you're trying to save a few shekels. Black-and-white motif will please carpetbagging New Yorkers. That Ford Fry guy sure knows how to run a restaurant.
